Taste and Discover Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Insignia

Joseph Phelps was one of the great visionaries at the beginnings of Napa Valley's rise to stardom. In 1973 he bought a former cattle ranch near St. Helena, Napa Valley, and today the winery controls 375 acres of vines on eight estate vineyards there. Joseph Phelps Vineyards is best known for its flagship blend of red Bordeaux varietals, Insignia, first produced in 1974. Awarded Wine Spectator's 'Wine of the Year' in 2005, Insignia is regarded as a qualitative benchmark for California winemaking. In November of 2013, Robert Parker The Wine Advocate awarded Insignia 100-point scores for 1991, 1997, 2002, 2012 and 2013 vintages, calling them 'some of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignon blends.'
