Celebrate National Cheese Lover’s Day!

Celebrate National Cheese Lover’s Day!

Wednesday, January 20 is National Cheese Lover’s Day! Every year, Americans eat about 30 pounds of cheese, and if you’re French, it’s closer to 50. For cheese lovers, the word “love” doesn’t quite go far enough to describe our passion and devotion to cheese. Whether it’s oozing out of a grilled sandwich, melting on a perfect nacho, piled high on pizza or pasta, or simply sliced on its own, cheese is probably the most important culinary creation in the history of the world.  Let’s face it, cheese is basically necessary for the continued survival of the human race, and this Wednesday is that wonderful day where we take time to honor the glory and majesty that is cheese. Here at GiftTree, we think the best way to celebrate is with these perfectly delicious cheese gifts.     Gourmet Cheese Dome Whether it’s the elderflower-flecked La Cigogne from Alsace or the perfectly aged Comte Extra made from sweet summer milk on the French Swiss border, every cheese in this imported collection has a story all its own. All together they create an impressive tasting experience worth sharing. The acacia-wood board and signature dome gives a stately presentation to the five gourmet cheeses, and the included picnic-ready isothermic cooler makes for easy transportation to any gathering.               Personalized Cheese Board and Tools Perfect for any cheese lover’s kitchen, this wooden cheeseboard smoothly glides open to reveal four stainless steel cheese tools with wood handles, perfect for serving up artisan cheeses. Use the fork to pierce while slicing, the stilton spatula to shave hard cheeses, the spade to spread soft cheeses and the cheddar spatula to...
Unique Gifts for Your Favorite Foodie

Unique Gifts for Your Favorite Foodie

You know them, you love them: Foodies. They’re talking about the subtle nuances of their favorite dish, directing you to some new fangled restaurant in town, or posting a link to a great food blog they read… while it’s definitely fun getting restaurant recommendations and cooking advice from them, it’s not always easy to shop for the foodies in our lives. Luckily, GiftTree has some great new gift ideas to satisfy your favorite food lover, including tools for the kitchen and gourmet delights for the belly.   Personalized Cheese Board with Tools:  Perfect for any foodie’s kitchen, this wooden cheeseboard smoothly glides open to reveal four stainless steel cheese tools with wood handles, perfect for serving up artisan cheeses. Why We Gift Wednesday (Long Distance Friends Edition)

Why We Gift Wednesday (Long Distance Friends Edition)

This Why We Gift Wednesday, we’re celebrating our dear long distance friends. We may live miles and miles apart, but our hearts are side by side. We don’t get to see them every day, or talk to them nearly as often as we would like, but when we do, we pick up right where we left off. Because after all, true friendship isn’t about being inseparable, it’s about being separated and having nothing change.   Comment below:  Are you lucky enough to have a close friend across the miles? Tell us about...
Meet the Team: Sydney Hasson, Designer & Buyer

Meet the Team: Sydney Hasson, Designer & Buyer

The streamlined aesthetic of GiftTree’s beautiful collection is thanks in part to our talented design team, and one of the captains at the helm is the dynamic designer and buyer, Sydney Hasson. With her extensive knowledge of product design, Sydney conceptualizes and curates our Personalized and Spa Gifts. We sat down with Sydney to talk inspiration, her creative process and a little bit of life, too. Tell us a little about where you grew up! I was raised up and down the west coast in Los Angeles, Boise, and Portland. Between the small-town feel of Boise and the crazy pace of LA, I think Portland was the perfect “Goldilocks” place for me to end up! My childhood involved lots of family road trips, long hikes, and a huge number of home cooked meals. Where do your greatest passions lie? I’d definitely say with my family, my friends, the outdoors, and in good design.   Where would we most likely find you on the weekends? Trying a new brewery or restaurant (we are spoiled for choice in Portland), skiing, playing with my Mini Schnauzer Zelda or bingeing on Netflix.   When did you know you wanted to work in product design?  I always loved making art, but Product Design allowed me to be creative and work with my hands in a very practical way. The whole process of product creation from concept iteration through product mockups is just really satisfying to me. I also love that it makes for a truly collaborative environment where no day at work is ever the same as the day before.   What brought you to the Design Studio...
