Welcome to Why We Gift Wednesday! Each week, we celebrate one of the thousands of reasons that we truly love giving. Whether it’s honoring the relationships that we have, feeling grateful for an occasion or a special time of year, or relishing life’s simple joys, Why We Gift Wednesday is all about giving and generosity – the expression of appreciation for life’s many happy moments.
Since today is December 27 and we’re right in the thick of Christmas vacation, this Why We Gift Wednesday goes out to the moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers everywhere who go above and beyond to make Christmas vacation special for the kids. Whether it’s a full day of skating, skiing or sledding or an afternoon spent in the kitchen mixing and baking up something delicious, adults everywhere know that Christmas is only one day – it’s up to them to keep their kids from getting too bored over the rest of the break, and they need to plan some fun activities.
Looking for some ideas for entertaining the kids over the Christmas break? Some of our favorite activity ideas include:
1. Bundle up and get outside for some fresh air and winter sporting fun!
2. Get in the kitchen and get baking! The parents at GiftTree all say that one of their kid-favorite recipes is this Funfetti Dump Cake.
3. If you have kids over the age of 10, sit down and make some great New Year’s resolutions! It can be as simple as a book-reading goal.
4. Go through the old toys and donate them! Now that they’re happily playing with a whole new set of toys, donate old ones so they can be enjoyed by other kids instead of gathering dust.
There are lots more ideas here. Enjoy the winter break and from all of us at GiftTree, happy new year!
