  5. The best advice my Dad has ever gave me is to follow my heart and follow my dreams!

  6. The best advice my Dad ever gave to me. Each day before I left for school my Dad wouldn’t tell me to have a good day. Instead, he would tell me “Be kind, speak the truth and protect the weak.” It was a powerful statement and one I use on my children today. I wish that we all could protect the weak.

  12. The best lesson I ever learned from my dad is when he would, and still does tell me today, “Baby, as long as you live, always remember to be humble.” When we hear the word humble, many times we view that as a person letting others use them or walk over them. My dad is an humble man. He never raises his voice, and he teaches my sister and brother and me to kill people with kindness. “Kindness always come bacy in a pretty wrapped up box,” he says. “But being nasty to people always comes back unwrapped and dirty.” My dad has been there for me all my life, and now I am headed to Howard University on a full scholarship!!! Da-Da, as I call him, cried the whole while during my graduation. I can remember him taking me up and down the road early in the morning and late at night. From Upward Bound, to STEM, to Rural SSTRIDE, to my CNA class, to the dual enrollment program, he was my Taxi with Love! Always being humble, never complaining, never late, and always smiling. He deserves something. He never looks for anything from anyone, but gives his last to everyone. At our church for mother’s day, he personally made a gospel cd for every mother in the congregation and gave each mother of the church a rose, and made each elderly mother a personal fruit basket. I love my da-da. Please consider him for this gift.

  13. The best advice my dad gave me might sound all too familiar but he always told me to listen to my gut not my heart! That little voice inside me telling me what I need to do instead of what I want to do has gotten me where I am today and I am forever grateful for that piece of advice!

  14. The best advice my Dad ever gave me was to learn from my mistakes. If you learn something, your mistakes can end up making you a better person!
