Wine Gift Baskets to Knock Your Socks Off
The neighbor’s last moving van is packed and pulling away and Mom is to blame. Again.
All their forced smiles and reluctant “thank you’s” went right over her head. Again. If there is a queen of sending the wrong gifts Mom is surely royalty! This time with the help of some folks from GiftTree, we have a better plan.
With the new family that just moved in down the road, Mom wants to welcome them with yet another plate of bacon. It took some convincing but instead I’ve managed to get her to try something different.
My interest was piqued when my parents received a very impressive gift basket for their anniversary from a company called GiftTree. It was packed full of goodies galore and the whole family enjoyed it day after day. Mom now uses the leather container to hold all of the leashes and dog toys. She likes it because of the handles and how in her words it keeps her “fashionable” at the dog park.
So with Mom already a fan, getting a housewarming gift from them was a natural choice; one I hoped could snap her long losing streak of offensive gifts.
When I told her to go have a glass of wine and let me handle picking a gift she immediately thought of wine baskets. So without knowing what to expect we logged on the site and boy, were we impressed.
Very fancy wines in big baskets, small baskets, chillers, and totes with just about every wine accessory you can imagine. Neither of us knew anything about wine so it was perfect that each type had detailed info, and was actually written in terms we could understand. It’s hard to believe, but the wine gift baskets didn’t cost an arm and a leg either!
We chose a wine gift basket and it only took about a day and a half to arrive. Mom didn’t waste a second in getting it unpacked and arranged just like the picture on GiftTree.com. As we walked it over to the new neighbors I must admit to feeling nervous.
Knowing our luck, they would hate wine and we’d be in a pickle once again. Not this time! When they opened the door they couldn’t have looked happier, and mentioned that they were big time wine aficionados.
Now Mom has some new friends and I don’t have to get all tense whenever she wants to welcome new folks to the neighborhood. In fact, the new neighbors told everyone about our gift and now she has a great reputation of a thoughtful gift-giver to boot! Before this I had concluded that Mom was a lost cause. Who knew one great wine basket could change years of bad gifts?
GiftTree has earned my trust and my thanks. When you leave the same kind of impression that Mom and I did, you get the whole town talking. And I can’t even remember the last time I saw any moving trucks leaving!
