Acclaim:

A partnership between Robert Mondavi and Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Opus One is one of Napa Valley's most highly regarded Bordeaux-style blends. Beginning with the first harvest in 1979, Opus One has expressed the vision and passionate spirit of its founders. Each varietal percentage is unique and dependent upon the growing season, resulting in a masterful wine year after year.

Tasting Notes:

Extreme weather conditions in 2008 led to Opus One's smallest per-acre yield in thirty-two vintages. This limited-production wine is full-bodied and intense without being weighty, with an opulent, even voluptuous mouthfeel. It is a sensational Opus One, with sweet tannins and impressive precision and depth. Flavors of cassis, nutmeg, raspberries, dark chocolate, and forest floor lead to a polished, supple, and harmonious precise finish.

Blend:

86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec

Cellaring:

This wine will age effortlessly for decades but can be enjoyed now with proper decanting.
