The decanter is particularly well-suited for mature red wines and white wines. The thin, long neck and round body permits just the right amount of aeration for mature wines. And, with the support of the pedestal, the decanter can be oriented in different directions for easy decanting of wines with sediment.

An added feature of the pedestal is that it can be chilled in an ice bucket or refrigerator before serving to help achieve optimal temperature conditions for white wine.
