Description
Oak barrels have been used for centuries to store and age wine. The barrels are central to the winemaking process and almost as important as the grape itself. While our handsome wood barrel may not be appropriate for aging wine, it pays tribute to classical vinification and will appreciated by wine enthusiasts everywhere. We recommend displaying the barrel in your private cellar for an authentic look or using it to store your wine accessories.
Your choice of four superb wine trios will be delivered within the barrel for a presentation unlike any other gift:

Wine InfoThe Vintner:
Beringer, Bancroft Ranch, Merlot 2002 Considered to be their "top Merlot," this outstanding wine is from a single vineyard on Bancroft Ranch, one of the first areas within Napa Valley to be declared a separate viticultural area (AVA). Vibrant notes of wild blackberry and melted fudge intermix with cherries, minerals, and creosote. Rated 91-93 by Wine Advocate.
Rex Hill Pinot Noir Oregon Reserve 2003 This garnet-colored wine is mellow in tannins and reveals aromas of crushed violets, vanilla, and strawberry, hinting at a smoky note on the finish.
Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 From the Walla Walla valley comes a fragrant Cabernet intense in color and tone. Aged over 20 months in a variety of oak barrels, the finished wine is very round with spicy aromas of licorice root, cinnamon, hints of plum jam, and an elegant touch of minerality.
The Sommelier:
Henry Estate Pinot Gris, Umpqua Valley 2005 An easy-drinking wine with peach and apricot on the nose. A smooth palate of vanilla and honeysuckle lead to a long, dry finish. Pairs well with summer fare and shellfish dishes.
Eola Hills Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2006 Light in texture with ripe raspberry and strawberry fruit, hinting at mint as the finish gently lingers. Drink now through 2010.
Covey Run Reserve Chardonnay 2003 Exhibits rich, ripe fruit and manageable acidity. Sweet vanilla aromas are layered inside a frame of crisp, lemon zest. A great wine for summer.
The Aficionado:
Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley 2003 Behind the beautiful label of this Artist Series wine is a lush Cabernet with a lovely nose of spicy oak and cedar. A firm, rich mouthfeel begins with cassis and blackberry, leading towards chocolate and mocha. The finish is generous and long.
Hurricane Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 A balanced wine that expresses deep blackberry and blueberry flavors with toasty oak nuances and manageable tannins. Ready for drinking now.
Canoe Ridge Estate Merlot, Horse Heaven Hills 2004 An elegant, classic Merlot with blueberry and currant fruit shaded by pleasant cedar spices on the nose. Tasters are charmed by its spicy and fruity aromas. Ready to drink now.
The Connoisseur:
McWilliams Hanwood Estate Merlot 2004, South Eastern Australia A nicely focused wine that unfolds in velvety layers of spicy Satsuma plum and black currant. The palate will detect hints of spice with soft oak nuances and mineral-tinged tannins. Drink now.
Eco Domani Pinot Grigio 2006, Italy Boldly expressed floral and citrus aromas lead to flavors of apple and tropical fruit on the palate. Clean, medium-bodied, and a great wine for summer.
Canoe Ridge Estate Merlot, Horse Heaven Hills 2004 An elegant, classic Merlot with blueberry and currant fruit shaded by pleasant cedar spices on the nose. Tasters are charmed by its spicy and fruity aromas. Ready to drink now.
