  • Planting a tree from seed is a beautiful way to honor someone special in your life. Whether it is to welcome a newborn, celebrate the purchase of a home, or to honor someone's life, the planting of a tree is a touching gesture.

    A Southern symbol of strength, an oak tree has a massive spread with reclining branches that create a canopy of speckled light. Height of a full grown oak is 80'-125' with 2"-5" elliptical leaves. The bark is dark brown to reddish brown and has a thick furrowed texture. It is an excellent shade tree and will thrive in Zones 3-10 (Continental USA).

      My family received this gift from friends when my mom died. What a loving and thoughtful way to lift someone up in a time of mourning. We enjoyed the whole process, daily remembering mom when we watered it. We just transplanted it outside. What a great idea!

      This is a very nice gift and a great keepsake. I bought this for my brother in law's family when they lost their dad/ grandpa. I thought my nephews would enjoy this the most and would like to remember their grandpa this way. Gift was very well like but when it arrived the pot was shattered in delivery. Customer service fixed this right away when my sis in law called and they sent a replacement right away with no issues. Would buy again despite this issue.

      Perfect gift to give someone - plant a tree in remembrance of someone dear and true to your heart May 11, 2012

      This was a gift for my sister for Mother's Day - but her kids had recently lost their Grand-pa her father in-law so I picked this so that the 3 of them could plant this in remembrance of him. She texted me last night after I had gone to bed since they live 3 hours away and stated that it was the "most special gift" the only thing is...I forgot to sign my name and she didn't know who it came from..too funny, she'll know when she gets up.

      I gave this as a sympathy gift to a friend who unexpectedly lost her brother. She really appreciated it. The act of planting the seeds was a very symbolic thing for her and her family. What a great way to honor a loved one through the years.
