      I sent this to someone to show my support for a friend that was laid off from a job.       My best friend and I decided to buy a gift for our other best friend who recently suffered a loss of both her grandparents in the same month. She lives in another state so we decided we would ship her something to cheer her up. She LOVED her comfort candle and was so excited to use it. I purchased the item on Monday and it was delievered by Thursday (This made me very happy). I have bought from gifttree before and I will continue to use them we I need it.

      I could see how this would make an excellent remembrance/sympathy gift. However, I ordered this for my mother's 70th birthday. She thought it was unique and liked the message. Her exact words were-she "really, really liked it". Gifttree provides an excellent service and quality. Highly recommend and will order from again.

      Great alternative to flowers March 15, 2013

      I didn't get to see this item because I sent it as a gift to a family that didn't have a funeral home viewing for their loved one (also the reason for 4 stars rather than 5). However, after receiving way too many flowers at my home when I was in a similar situation, I wanted to send something more memorable and lasting. This fit the bill.

      I sent this as a thank you gift. I didn't want flowers that would die or something that wouldn't go with their decor. This was perfect. Reasonably priced and pretty enough to display. Goes with everything. I'd send it again. I also loved how quickly it was sent and that I was informed when it was sent and then again when it was delivered.

      I have not seen it in person, as I purchased this as a sympathy gift, this was actually my third purchase of this candle. I like the sentiment, and that it is something the receiver can keep instead of traditional flowers that will eventually die. I just wish there was an option to add on some additional tealights, like a 6 pk or 12 pk.

      I needed something to lift the spirits of a dear friend that is 30 yrs old that found out she has breast cancer. I'm in FL and she is in TN. I couldn't believe how fast she rec'd the gift. She rec'd it two before the expected delivery. Very impressive. She loved the candle and the verse on it and it did lift her spirits and made her smile. The wrapping/presentation she said was beautiful. This is the first time using Gift Tree but it won't be the last. Very satisfied from the beginning to the end.

      A male friend of mine recently lost his Mother. I was looking for a gift rather than flowers. Something masculine for him as a keepsake. This was perfect. It looked beautiful in his home too. The sentiment was fitting and the candle came wrapped in the beautiful brown box with the ribbon displaying the sentiment also. I was worried that it may arrive a day late, but instead it was two days early. Perfect timing. A very classy gift and just as it says, a comfort candle. I would definitely recommend this product and GiftTree. Glad I stumbled upon them while searching the web for just the right gift.

      The only negative was in the message. When opening the package neither person knew who it was from. The tab apparently tore off when opening the box. There should have been a separate card with the message and the giver.

      I received this gift when I returned home from the funeral of my oldest child and only daughter in another state 1500 miles away. I just sat down and cried with my wife's arms around me. The Comfort Candle truly hit the spot.

      Now I am sending similar candles to my daughter's two adult daughters and one teenage son. They can light the candle any time, but I will recommend that they light the candle on special occasions, including their mother's birthday.
