Winter Warm Up
I called my mom and dad last night. I had to make sure they weren’t human ice cubes. They live in northern Minnesota and the high temperature was 20 below zero yesterday. I won’t even discuss the wind chill factor. Brrr. It is hard to imagine how people survive such cold weather let alone enjoy it! I asked them what they do all day when it is so cold outside. Both of them seemed absolutely baffled why their lives were expected to be any different in January than July. They meet friends for lunch, attend movies, volunteer, read, work on jigsaw puzzles, walk along the lake, etc. Dad will go ice fishing, Mom will shop or sew. Sounds pretty sweet. Despite claims of contentment, I thought maybe they could use a little winter warmer, something to brighten their day. Both of them enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. I have sent them The Coffeehouse in the past and the Cookie & Coffee Collection is almost too big for the just the two of them. I selected the Wood Chest of Silken Tea Pyramids. The presentation is fabulous. Sipping tea and nibbling homemade scones sounds pretty cozy to me! I’m sure they are going to enjoy it too.

At 20 below I would be staying inside and sipping tea for sure.

My mom is a tea afficionado and this would make such a great mother’s day gift for her.
