After hubby and I celebrate with our kids(youngest daughter will be 13),then we send the kids to bed(or at least their rooms, they are teenagers, lol)we will watch old movies and see where the night leads:)
January 21st, 2009 at 1:22 pm
We will probably just stay in and watch a good movie together and snuggle. Hubby has to work that day and he works very long hours, so when he gets home it is too late to really go anywhere and besides he’ll be too tired. Besides Valentines is really about being with your true love and I will be. Good luck to all.
January 21st, 2009 at 1:33 pm
We stay at home. I cook a nice meal and hubby buys the champagne and dessert.

January 21st, 2009 at 2:10 pm
We have no special plans this year. I’ll more than likely be cooking our traditional heart shaped meatloafs with some sort of pink desert for my husband and kids.

Best part of Valentines Day will be the party for the first grade children I teach.
They’re very sweet as they sit in a circle, open their valentines and call out thanks to one another. In the classroom we have a guiding principal that if a child gives a valentine to one student then she/he must give a card to every student. That way no one in the class is disappointed or embarrassed. There will be treats and everyone will have a good time.
Thanks for the contest. Best wishes for a happy & prosperous 2009!
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Yummy! I’ve never gotten a Valentine’s Day gift so extravagant. The empty boxes would probably end up in the bathroom closet or my sewing room to organize stuff in a pretty way. I’d share with hubby too..he’s the chocolate eater in the family.
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:59 pm
I will probably be having a nice dinner at home with my husband and daughter.
January 23rd, 2009 at 5:30 pm
My husband and I will be escaping the frigid temperatures that we have been having for a few weeks now with snow almost everyday and taking a trip to Key West. It will be a very nice warm romantic trip.
January 24th, 2009 at 5:59 am
I’ll probably cook a special meal for my husband when he comes home from work.
January 24th, 2009 at 8:48 am

January 24th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
We always stay in with a nice dinner ordered in
January 24th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
We usually don’t make special plans ahead of time. As everyday seems like Valentines Day in my house. It is rather nice that way – rather than celebrating with my sweetheart just because everyone else is doing it. It makes things a bit more romantic and creative.
January 24th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Dinner and a movie (at home) for Valentine’s Dy this year.
January 24th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Don’t really do Valentine’s Day plans… I always have to work, and the restaurants are obscenely crowded, and the stores are full of panicky men grabbing anything as a gift to keep themselves out of the doghouse. I’d rather just say “Love you, sweetie” and let it go at that.
January 24th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
I’ll probably cook my husband a nice dinner at home. We don’t like to go out on such a busy night. We’d rather spend the evening alone at home.
January 24th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
I plan to have a nice romantic dinner with my husband.
January 24th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
With 5 kids, celebrating Valentine’s Day alone isn’t going to be easy. Luckily, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, which is my husband’s night off. Our plan is to put the kids to bed early, pop a pizza in the oven, (we live in the boonies and no one delivers to us!), and snuggle up on the couch with a sappy romantic comedy. That’s the plan. Let’s see if the kids actually allow it to happen!

I am just thankful that I have my wife home for Valentine’s Day. Her father has stage 3 cancer and she has been traveling back and forth helping her elderly parents with his care, then when she is home here, she tends to my parents who are ill. My wife is an amazing woman, with a wonderful heart, but is sick herself. She has RA, among other conditions; she and her physicans opted to take her off her medication for the RA while her father is on chemo so her immune system does not get lower. She is in so much pain but always has a smile on her face for the family. She is my soulmate, my bestfriend and my rock. I wish I could give her the world to this woman, but I am planning a romantic dinner and movie for her.

February 3rd, 2009 at 8:02 pm
I have become a new grandmother this year and my husband and I are in such baby love. We cannot think of a better way to spend Valentine’s Day than to babysit the little love of our lives while our daughter and son-in-law go out for a romantic dinner. There is nothing more precious than a baby, and this little guy melts our hearts and brings us great joy. The closeness we feel looking at the culmination of our love is priceless.
February 5th, 2009 at 8:45 am

We are just going to stay home and have a nice quiet dinner. We both don’t like crowds, so we just order out or I’ll cook something special for us.

Plans this year? My boyfriend and I have a couple hours together before 1, he says he has gifts for me. He found out he had to go into work. We won’t really celebrate Valentine’s day until a week later. We’re going out to have a nice dinner and then a movie afterwards.

Married two years December 8, 2009 and 365 phone calls every single nite. That’s what you have to do when you live 123 miles apart and work in different cities. My wife has not had Valentine’s Day off since before 2000. Her job has not afforded her/us that opportunity. This year is going to be different. I made a special request (unknownst) to my wife for this day off. Her new boss agreed. She will cry when she finds out that after ten years she is finally going to have a real Valentine’s Day Gift; the day off which means a great deal. I’m going to give her the I.O.U. for the final payment on her dream ring. She will cry again as usual. This I’m going to reserve the first room in the first time we were alone since being married two years ago. I couldn’t afford it then and now with the way the economy is, not sure I can afford it now? I’ll worry about that later. She has given me birthday cards, cards that say how much she loves me and cards for all kinds of reasons. I have put them all together cutting pieces from this one and that one to form one collage. She will love this better than any gift I could possible buy for her. It’s all paste and glue and I should finish it by midnite before Valentine’s Day. She cries so easily these days and just when she thinks that the date is over; I will read the card to her and read a korney poem that I wrote for her. Most of my gifts are from my heart since that is the part she says she loves most about me.

When life gives you snow, send a “Snow Valentine”. I shoveled a heart that filled our entire front yard. It is shot with an arrow and says “JS + MS”. I can send a photo.
