The Gift Exchange

Last year GiftTree challenged each employee to set a goal for the month of April in recognition of Earth Day, April 22nd, and Arbor Day which is coming up on April 30th. We were encouraged to find a way to use less energy, start a garden or conserve water. I walked more and drove less for the challenge. This year my goal is to plant a tree for my own personal Earth Day/Arbor Day challenge.

According to one government site, one tree can generate enough oxygen daily for 18 people, remove $60,000 worth of air pollution and recycle $35,000 worth of water. They can also reduce noise pollution, increase property value and reduce air conditioning needs by 30 percent.
