Summer Fun

Summer is traditionally a time for gatherings. Whether it is a wedding, a graduation, a class reunion, a kids’ camp or a family reunion people travel from all over the world to participate in various group functions.

The last family reunion in my family was held at Estes Park, Colorado. It is a wonderful place full of activities for young and old. The facility has a fantastic dining hall, but late at night when a little snack was desired it was always the gift basket that was placed in our room prior to our arrival that saved us. Those particular gift baskets were hand made by one of the industrious cousins.  They were beautiful, but they were a lot of work and it had to be expensive to compile all the goodies and transport them to the facility.

I’m in charge of our next family reunion (Lake Shasta here we come!) and I plan on sending gift baskets from GiftTree to the cabins and houseboats. Granted I am a bit biased since I am part of the Design Team, but it will be so easy to have GiftTree take care of all the details. What is especially great about GiftTree is that Customer Service Representatives will work with clients and the Design Team to create custom gift baskets perfectly suited to individuals and their events.

Another summer tradition is sending my daughter a gift basket when she is away at camp. I make sure it is full of things to share with her cabin mates and counselors. The Junk Food Basket is my favorite choice for camp, but I have also sent balloon bouquets and fresh fruit. What fun!

  1. I sent the Junk Food Basket to my son at summer camp last year. It was a big hit with him and his cabin mates! I also asked him to save the container and bring it home for me. Haha! I still use it. :)

  2. That’s funny – I send this basket to my two sons every year when they go to camp, too. I swear it makes them instantly popular. Thanks for posting, Sue.

  3. A relative sent this to us once when she couldn’t come to our beach house for Fourth of July. It was a hit and now we order one up for each year we meet. At first we fought over the leather container, but now each family member has one. Has anyone else noticed how hard it is to find cracker jacks these days?

  4. I sent this to my brother when he was working out of town. I love this gift and it was a big hit for him the “the guys” that were all staying at the same hotel. Thanks for making me the coolest sister in the world :)

  5. I sent this to my grandkids in Texas last year to celebrate the last day of school. They were thrilled with all of the “junk” that their parents normally don’t let them have. Chalk it up to Grandparents Behaving Badly!
