PARTY ON – Part Two, The Theme

Alicia Grotjohn – Customer Service Representative

So if anybody remembers my blog “Party On,” we touched on the idea of theme parties. Here is a list of great theme ideas that are sure to make your next party a big hit!

**For Couples**

80′s night – Have everyone come dressed in 80′s clothes, play 80′s music, etc.

Mardi Gras – Have guests arrive with masks, give out beads as party favors, decorate in green and purple, and serve Cajun inspired food and drinks.

Las Vegas Nights - Send out decks of cards with the invitation inside. Set up gaming areas, give each guest poker chips, play money, and dice when they arrive. Serve buffet style food because you know we all love those Las Vegas buffets!

**Ladies Only**

Spa Night - Do it yourself mani’s & pedi’s, massages, etc. Or you can call a local beauty school and hire out a couple girls to come over and do massages, makeup, hair, manicures, etc. for a fairly reasonable price! Serve light and relaxing beverages such as wine, champagne, and herbal teas. Food should be simple but satisfying, some good choices are fruit, cheese, mini-sandwiches, sushi, etc.

Fondue/Martini Party – Serve up cheese and chocolate fondue and 3 signature martini’s such as the Cosmo, Lemon Drop and Apple Martinis. Play upbeat music so everyone can dance and let loose!

**The Whole Family**

Hawaiian Luau – Send your invitation on a beach ball! Blow up ball, write info, and deflate. When guest receives their invite, they have to blow it up for the details. Might sound time consuming, but it’s definitely a unique and fun way to let your party be known! When guests arrive, hand out Lei’s or sunglasses, have the kids & adults alike participate in a limbo and hula hoop contest! Don’t forget to wear your grass skirts!

Safari - Send the invitation as a map, maybe even roll it up so that it looks like a scroll. Have toy guns, binoculars, and hats for the kids.  Hide stuffed animals around the yard or house and tell the kids to go hunting.  Food and drinks could of course just be Barbecue style.

**Singles**

Rubik’s Cube Party – Have everyone dress up (hats, shirts, pants, socks,)  in different colors of the rubik’s cube (red, orange, yellow, green, blue or white), As the night progresses, you trade articles of clothing with other guests, and by the end of the evening, you should be wearing all one color.  Award prizes at the end of the night for best dressed/worst dressed/most ridiculous, etc.

Naughty or Nice Party – When guests arrive, they chose to put on either devil horns or an angel’s halo. From then on they must take over that persona for the evening. The devils will drink only the red drinks (you can make Vodka Cranberry’s, or Red Martinis, or have red wine on hand) and the angels drink the white drinks (Pina Coladas, White Russians, champagne, white wine). Have red and white food on hand or have spicy food for the devils, and sweets for the angels. Great party favors can be red flashing jewerly or glow necklaces for the devils and white feather boa’s or white glow necklaces for the angels!

Whatever theme you decide on for your party, it will be memorable!

  1. My favorite is Las Vegas nights

  2. I love your ideas. I’m looking for a sweet sixteen theme. A Casino night may be fun. We’ll use tickets instead of money and draw prizes. If she likes this idea I will owe you the credit
