The Gift Exchange

My mother has been an enormous hypochondriac ever since I can remember, and even when she actually has something wrong with her it’s hard to believe. One time she called to tell me she thought she had bird flu, even though she hadn’t actually seen a bird except through her living room window. Another time she thought she’d caught Lyme disease from a friend who thought she had it too. Hypochondriacs love to feed off of each other, and my mother has a network of these folks dedicated to keeping her worried from sun up to sun down. Despite all of this she is relatively healthy, due in part I suspect to her fear of actually getting sick! She takes vitamins and herbal supplements every single day of the week without fail and you know what I just realized? I have never seen a really nice pill organizer for her until now.
