My Mom taught me to really listen when someone was trying to talk to you. Then comment with something that says you really heard them. Even if there is nothing you can do to help the othe person, at least they know you cared enough to hear them out.

As a single mom, my mom taught me that you need to be able to take care of things that typically a man does. I now know how to fix a flat, paint, use a drill, change my oil, mow the lawn, fix a clogged drain and soooo much more. This has since taught me that it's ok (even with a man in your life) to do these things.

My Mom showed me by her actions to love people and no matter how little you have that if you share it with others in need that God will always provide for your needs.
We did not have alot, but at her funeral, many many people told me what she had done to help them and how much it meant to them.
I have tried to live up to her example

The best lesson I learned from my mom is
to treat others as I would like to be
treated.
