I Do, I Do!
Ah, June…my absolute favorite time of year! The promise of summer ahead, hot days and cool nights, BBQ’s and friends, kids giddy with anticipation of summer break…and weddings!
Did you know June is the beginning of the most popular wedding season? It’s gotten first place for favorite month to get married, followed by August, September, and July. I’ve already received 3 wedding invitations in the mail for the next 2 months!
Luckily, here at GiftTree, we have a ton of great gifts to give for the big day! I’ve already picked out the Toasting Set for Newlyweds for my friends who are getting married by the beach. It comes with sand and shells and can be displayed. It also comes with free engraving, which is perfect! Another gift I plan to get for some friends who love wine is the Cheers to the Bride & Groom. It comes with two bottles of wine along with a bride and groom opener and wine stopper, each with a heart handle – totally unique and one of a kind!
So needless to say, I love weddings! According to the old legend below that I found, the month you chose to get married may have some bearing on the fate of your marriage. Perhaps an old wives’ tale, but it’s still interesting to read. Does yours ring true?
Married when the year is new, he’ll be loving, kind and true;
When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate;
If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you’ll know;
Marry in April when you can, joy for Maiden and for Man;
Marry in the month of May, and you’ll surely rue the day;
Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you will go;
Those who in July do wed, must labor for their daily bred;
Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see;
Marry in September’s shrine, your living will be rich and fine;
If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry;
If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember;
When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last.

Great blog Alicia! I got married in the month of May but haven’t “rue’d” a day yet. This is obviously an outdated tale!
