Hold onto Your Corks!
Trying to be green while drinking red or purchasing wine gifts? New programs using cork collection bins are being tested in Whole Food Markets in California where you can bring in your used corks for easy recycling. The corks are then either sent to either Portugal or local groups for re-use or recycling. After recycling, the corks can be turned into shoe soles, flooring, insulation, and various other products.
While these recycling programs are not offered nationwide, it appears they will be soon, so hang on to your corks!
