Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
I can think of no better way to honor Dr Seuss then with a poem
From all us kids
big and small.
Who became adults
Short and tall.
You paved the way
and let us dream.
Make up words
and be part of a team.
Red Fish, Foxes
Things and Whos’
Cats in hats,
Pop and Snoo’s
Imaginary words,
Characters and places
Came to life with trees
Elephants and faces
Without you
Where would we be?
A culture unable to tap into
Its own creativity.
With all my love
I thank you for your books
For opening my world
To Lorax, Nerds and Zooks.
