Friendship Day
Friendship Day is August 1st this year. This holiday is dedicated to celebrating friendships. Interestingly enough, Winnie the Pooh was once named the world’s Ambassador of Friendship. I am not a big fan of Winnie the Pooh, but I understand why he may have been chosen, especially considering his popularity. I think SpongeBob SquarePants would be a better choice though. SpongeBob seems like he is a great friend.
In celebration of Friendship Day, I plan to treat my best friend to a day trip to the coast. She always wants to go out of town on the weekends and I am sure the weather will be nice. Maybe we can even go camping or to the Oregon Coast Aquarium to see the new Swampland exhibit. It has been a long time since I’ve seen an alligator. I think the last time was when I almost ran a canoe into a crocodile or alligator, not sure which one it was, while canoing on the Swannee River in Florida with my best friend. Going to the Swampland exhibit will really remind us of that canoe trip.
GiftTree has two gifts that I feel would be a great way to show my best friend how much I appreciate our friendship. My friend likes to read and so I think GiftTree’s Engraved Bookmark would be a great gift and to commemorate all the times we have enjoyed Japanese takeout together the Engraved Chopsticks for Two would be perfect. I am really glad that Friendship Day exists and it will be fun to spend the day with my best friend.

You almost ran over a crocodile or an alligator?? That’s crazy! I think the Oregon Coast is a much better idea than reliving running over an alligator in a canoe

Yeah. We had to quickly turn the canoe and just barely missed it. That was pretty scary. It was a fun trip though. We would sometimes load up a canoe with a tent, food, and drinks and take off for a couple of days on the Suwannee River. I miss that.
Swampland is great if you get a chance to go out to the coast. I went last weekend. It was really busy though and kind of expensive.
