Don’t Forget Dad

Balloons: Balloon Bouquet - 6 MixedMother’s Day 2008 has been put to rest. Children young and old have expressed loving tributes to their mothers. Now it is Dad’s turn. Although we may tend to think that gifts don’t really mean that much to a grown man, I can attest that sometimes those stoic men, those burly guys, those athletic fellows, those hunters and fishermen are often the ones that will crumble like a cookie with the simplest gesture. I sent my father a balloon bouquet a few years ago and he thought it was absolutely fabulous. Sure, it wasn’t an extravagant gift–that probably made it even more appealing to my hard working, depression era dad. I think he liked it because it was not something he needed to clean, fix, or find room to store. Best of all it didn’t require an instruction manual. It was what it was–a colorful way to say, “I love you, Dad. You’re the best”. GiftTree has a fabulous selection of balloons. My favorite is an arrangement of 3 Mylar and 3 latex.

  1. Thanks for the idea! I just ordered balloons and chocolate to be delivered to my dad tomorrow. Yep, just one more reason that I’m his favorite daughter! Like I always say, you designers make me look good. Thanks Judy!
