Do You Hear Bagpipes?

Green RiverMy job at GiftTree takes me around the world looking for new products for our customers. One of the best venues are trade shows. The International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago takes place during St. Paddy’s Day festivities and I am scheduled to attend. Lucky me! Chicago is a city that embraces the Irish culture with widespread celebrations during St. Patrick’s Day. While most people settle for green food dye in their beer, the Windy City dyes its river green and hosts fabulous parades. A crowd of 300,000 Irish and Irish-wanabees are expected to line the streets (make that 300,001) for the downtown parade alone. Most revelers will be seeking out true Irish fare after the parade. Although shepherd’s pie is tempting, I don’t get to Chicago on a regular basis. I think I just might break tradition and seek out some of the city’s more famous deep dish pizza and give a nod to the Italian in me.

  1. Remember to get some of that good Chicago style pizza! Yum!

  2. The pizza was fabulous. We chose deep dish style (of course). The crust was nice and thick, but not at all heavy. It had a lot of sauce, but it was seasoned perfectly. Yum!
