The Gift Exchange

Here in the Pacific Northwest, it’s a very colorful month filled with every shade of red, orange and brown. You can’t help but think of those bright fall colors when you think of October. But have you heard? Pink is the color of October.

Everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have to say, women really know how to unite to get the word out and get things done! October brings ample opportunities for everyone to get involved. The energy from all of the fund raising events is incredible. Pink really is everywhere year round, but especially in October. This month, I walked with the GiftTree team in Portland, Oregon’s Race for the Cure 5k and then ran the Girlfriends Half Marathon in support of breast cancer awareness. You could look forward or backward and see a sea of women, all putting one foot in front of the other, in the race and in life. It was a remarkable site and an empowering experience!
