A Simple “Thinking of You”
Right now I’m seeing many people who seem to be a bit down. I’m not sure if it’s winter blues or if it’s actually the stress of the economic crunch our country is going through. I used to go to pick up my mail at the post office and everyone would be smiling and saying hi to you, but lately the overall mood is seems down. It makes me sad seeing others in such a down mood.
So I started thinking: what makes me happy? If someone was to do something for me, what is that one thing that would make me smile? Then I came up with the thought that if I do something nice for someone else for no reason at all, maybe that would put a smile on their face. So, that’s what I did! I started out by just buying small little tokens like a bar of chocolate or a little bottle of hand lotion, and putting R.A.K.’d (Random Act of Kindness) stickers on them (and of course when no one was looking I set them on a co-workers desk.) Then I would find something at the store that I knew my brother or sister would like and I would purchase it and stick in their room not letting them know it was from me. It works, I tell ya! You should see the smiles that come across their faces when they realize that someone thought of them for no reason other than to think of them.
Small good deeds make others smile so why don’t we all pitch in and put smiles on one another’s faces? Lets not let the winter blues or economic down-times put grim looks on our faces. Here is one small idea to cheer someone up. Just send them flowers. You don’t need to send something big and expensive. You can just send something simple and pretty like the Bear Hug or Together Forever. It’s sure to put a smile on their face!

great idea to send some type of gift or note for people who are having a hard time–maybe some home made food would be appreciated

I was stunned when I came in to work this morning and had a beautiful orange and pink nickles on my desk with this cute orange notebook. What was very interesting is that it had the very same “RAK’D” sticker that I have originally putted on someone’s desk. I guess what goes around, comes back around.
