Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is finally here and with is all of my favorite fall things!! Changing foliage, pumpkin pie & Breast Cancer awareness! Yes you read right- Breast Cancer Awareness.  I believe that with bringing awareness to Breast Cancer we also need to bring awareness to our words and actions when interacting with those effected by the disease.  A very close friend of mine was recently diagnosed with a different form of cancer, however, the message I want to convey is one that pertains to every kind of ailement. Be an encouragement. Tell your loved ones how well they are doing, how happy you are to see them, how strong they are, not how sad you are for them, say their new short hair suites them, not how beautiful their long locks once were but above all let them know they are not alone in their fight and that they are loved.

Nothing brightens a room like fresh flowers. Nothing brightens a heart like words of love & encouragement. Everyday I see hundreds of card messages, some are funny, some are sentimental and some I just don’t understand, but they all come from the heart :) Here are a few of my favorite quotes used to cheer up someone special.

“How do you spell ‘love’?” – Piglet “You don’t spell it…you feel it.” – Pooh”  – A.A. Milne

Storms make oaks take roots. -Proverb

First say to yourself what you would be;
and then do what you have to do. -Epictetus

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. -Albert Einstein

We are still masters of our fate.We are still captains of our souls. – Winston Churchill

Health and good humor are to the human body like sunshine to vegetation. – Massillon

We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world. -Hellen Keller

May your walls know joy; May every room hold laughter and every window open to great possibility. -Maryanne Radmacher-Hershey

Joy is not in things; it is in us. -Richard Wagner

Take a look at our flower selection, find something you love and send a message of love, encouragement, and hope to  someone who could really use it today.

  1. We all know that nothing brightens up a hard day, like a fragrant group of flowers hand delivered to your place. I have to say that two of the most important women in my life are breast cancer survivors, and it’s pivotal that they stay positive, and in good spirits. Thank God for blessing me with all these jokes to keep my favorite ladies laughing.

  2. Family and friends immediately rally around when they learn someone they care about has been diagnosed with breast cancer. People are also very attentive right after surgery or at the start of chemotherapy or radiation. Unfortunately, treating breast cancer is a long process – often a year or longer – with lots of ups and downs. Let her know you’re always there for her. It can really uplift the spirit to get a cheerful flower bouquet or a festive bunch of balloons for no specific reason.

  3. Sometimes flowers can say what words simply cant.

  4. I like the Field of Dreams Standing Spray (7383). In loving memory of my Step mother Jenny, and her courageous fight against breast cancer. She taught me what strength, and endurance really look like.
