Fritz and Frank

I want to tell you guys about my 2 dogs. Their names are Fritz and Frank and they are miniature dachshunds, but the miniature part went out the window years ago. They are spoiled rotten and do silly things that make me laugh nearly every single day. I think before they go to little doggy heaven I need to get some good pictures of them doing these humorous things. Gift Tree has this nifty picture frame called the Dog PawPrint Desktop Frame that holds a picture & their paw print. I may invest in one of those.

Anyway, back to telling you about my dogs…

Frank has little dog syndrome. He barks furiously at anyone or anything that comes near our yard. I really and truly think that he believes he is scaring everyone away. One time my husband and I were taking the dogs on a walk and a bigger dog was coming our way. Frank just barked and barked and barked, until the big dog came closer. Once the big dog was right next to us, Frank ran behind my husband, tail between his legs and peed himself. Poor thing! But it was quite funny!

Fritz is the friendliest dog I have ever met. If you’re willing to pet him, he will become your best friend. He is quite hefty and loves his food. We only feed our dogs 2 times a day but in between those times, I’ve caught him sleeping next to his food bowl, waiting for dinner. He is very smart and if Frank is doing something he shouldn’t, Fritz will come running to us to tell on him. A few years ago we had a very nasty ice storm that lasted for days. One of those days we spent the day at my in-laws house, and their back yard is a pretty steep hill. We took Fritz and Frank to the back so they could do their thing, Fritz lost his step, started sliding down the hill and he let out this deep, deep growl at the ice. He wasn’t hurt, I think he was just a little frustrated and embarrassed.

I love them very much and could tell you about them all day long. I would love to hear all of your fun pet stories!

  1. Cuuuute! My husband and I have a “hefty” dog too who loves all food related things. His name is Gunner but I always refer to him as the Bomber dog because he literally bombs his way through the house. He’s knocked over furniture, plant stands, grandkids and even me. But I love him anyway in spite of his food obsession. Aren’t our pets great?
