Spokane's Spring Flower Festival

Known as the "Lilac City" Spokane holds a festival each spring called the Lilac Festival. The festival is filled with flowers, balloons, parades and people. The city of Spokane even elects local female highschool students to fill the positions of the festival's Queen and court!

The flower festival was startd by the Associated Garden Clubs of Spokane and the Spokane Floral Association in 1938. Needless to say, the Lilac Festival has become a spring tradition in Spokane.
