San Antonio Zoo

Being one of the largest zoos in the country with 3,500 animals of 750 species means there is a lot to see. The San Antonio Zoo is one of the premier zoos in the country, and our conservation programs with flamingo, white rhino, black rhino, snow leopard, whooping crane, and many more species are recognized around the globe.

San Antonio Market Square

From early morning until late at night, Market Square is alive with activity. It is the the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico. Visitors browse through the 32 shops at "El Mercado," an area patterned after an authentic Mexican market. In addition, there are 80 specialty shops in Farmers Market Plaza. Market Square is also the scene of many Hispanic festivals where food and beverage booths spring up alongside the Guadalajara lamps and the strains of mariachi music blend with the excitement of Mexican dances.

San Antonio Children's Museum

In 1993, San Antonio was the only top ten city without a hands-on, interactive museum specifically designed for children. At that time, many diverse groups began working together to make a children's museum in San Antonio a reality. Since opening its doors in September of 1995, more than three-quarters of a million visitors have explored the over 80 educationally and culturally based exhibits.

The San Antonio Children’s Museum is a unique and innovative educational resource dedicated to those they serve. Through interactive play, they inspire a journey of life-long learning, ultimately enriching lives and positively impacting the San Antonio community and beyond.
