The mission of the New Orleans Botanical Garden is to cultivate, promote, and inspire the knowledge, love, and appreciation of plants through educational programs and exhibits and to evaluate, introduce, and distribute new plant materials suitable for cultivation in the Gulf-South Region of the United States.
The New Orleans Botanical Garden is open year-round except select major holidays. Although many of the displays tend to peak in spring and fall, the large collection of tropical and subtropical plants coupled with our mild-winter climate allow significant numbers of plants to be in bloom throughout the all seasons.

Enter the Caribbean Reef through the Aquarium's 30-foot-long aquatic tunnel where you'll lurk with creatures of all shapes and sizes, surrounded by 132,000 gallons of water. And check out the coolest critters to hit New Orleans Frogs! Forget everything you know about frogs because these guys are way beyond green they're in every color imaginable. Better get to the Aquarium fast before they get away!
Founded in 1963, "The WAX" tells the fascinating story of New Orleans from her founding to the present day. Experience more than 300 years of History, Legend and Scandal with the 154 life-size figures displayed in historically accurate settings. Plus a Haunted Dungeon!! The Wax offers tours to school groups, individuals and is perfect for private parties.
