Las Vegas Natural History Museum

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is a private, non-profit institution dedicated to educating the public in the natural sciences – both past and present. Through its interactive exhibits, educational programs, and the preservation of its collections, the Museum strives to instill an understanding and appreciation of the world’s wildlife and ecosystems and explore the human relationship with the environment.

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is proud to announce the installation of its newest permanent exhibit, WHALES, in January 2004. WHALES is part of the Marine Life Gallery, and compliments our current shark displays that feature live leopard sharks and a shark egg hatchery. Other underwater inhabitants such as eels, lionfish, and seahorses continue to enhance the room in surrounding tanks.

Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat

"Magicians of the Century" Siegfried & Roy invite you to enter into their Secret Garden where Royal White Tigers, Magical White Lions, panthers, leopards, and a four-ton Thai ceremonial elephant named Gildah, live.

Enter this tropical atmosphere, surrounded by palm trees and lush foliage, and a different world that is exotic, enchanting and full of adventure lies before you. The exquisite animals enjoy relaxing in their environment, which was modeled after their natural habitats.

Dolphin Habitat
This 2.5-million-gallon Dolphin Habitat is home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Its purpose is to provide a healthy and nurturing environment for dolphins, as well as to educate the public about marine mammals and their environment - including their role in the ecosystem.

Four connected pools, an artificial coral reef system and sandy bottom replicate the dolphins' natural environment. Most of the dolphins were born here; the remaining few were relocated from other facilities.

The Dolphin Habitat is both an educational and research facility. We host educational programs for students from kindergarten through university age. Guided tours for the public are conducted throughout the day. Guests see the dolphins in a naturalistic environment, exhibiting natural behaviors. Research is conducted under the guidance of the Dolphin Care Specialists.

Submerge your soul in this magnificent garden abounding in fragrance, texture and color. Row upon row of exotic plants and flowers weave a glorious tapestry displaying the unique highlights of every season and holiday.

Crafted by a team of 100 horticulturalists, the Bellagio's conservatory features elegant, elaborate arrangements of plants and flowers in its bright, airy atrium. The picturesque arrangements, water fountains, and pagoda make the conservatory a perfect spot to snap a photo.

Lion Habitat @ MGM Grand

To honor the lion and help safeguard its preservation for future generations, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino has created a one-of-a-kind Lion Habitat as a showcase for public education and appreciation for this majestic creature of nature.

The lion has been a part of the MGM heritage for many years, beginning with the legendary Leo, whose roars have welcomed generations of moviegoers to epics of the silver screen. The eight lions in the habitat are all descendants of MGM's first marquee lion.

The lions live in custom accommodations on an 8.5-acre ranch 12 miles from the MGM Grand. They are owned and cared for by noted feline expert Keith Evans, who has been training exotic animals for more than 30 years.

Aquarium at The Mirage

Managed by The Mirage's own in-house aquarists, the aquarium accommodates more than 1,000 coral-reef animals representing 60 species from Australia, Hawaii, Tonga, Fiji, the Red Sea, the Marshall Islands, the Sea of Cortez and the Caribbean. These sea animals were all selected for their adaptability to the environment and compatibility with other species.

One of the most elaborate and technically advanced aquariums in the world, the tank is 53 feet long, eight feet from top to bottom, and six feet from front to back. The acrylic used in the aquarium is 4 inches thick. The interior was carefully created to simulate an intricately detailed, artificial coral reef. To preserve the living reefs in the ocean, no live coral is used in the tank.
